This is a game played for a car.

The playing board consists of 30 numbered slots each containing a card with a letter on the back. Each card has a letter or the word "CAR" on the back. There are:

(11) cards with the letter "A"
(11) cards with the letter "B"
(11) cards with the letter "C"
(2) cards with the word "CAR"

The object of the game is to pick at least three cards that spell the word "CAR". If the contestant can do this, the contestant wins the car. If the contestant picks either of the two cards that have the entire word "CAR" spelled out, the player immediately wins the car.

The contestant gets to choose two free cards. They are taken out of the slots and placed in the first two slots of the five slots below with the blank side facing out (we do not see what is on the back at this time).

The contestant can win up to three more cards by pricing three small items. For each item, the contestant guesses within $10, the player wins that item and another card. If the player should guess any item exactly right, the contestant automatically wins all three items and the maximum of three cards.

When all cards have been selected and before they are turned over, the host will offer the contestant $500 for each card selected. For example, if the contestant has won all five cards, the host will offer the player $2500. At this point, the contestant can take the money and quit the game. If the contestant decides not to quit, the host will turn over one card revealing what is on the back. At this point, the host will again offer the contestant $500 for each remaining card. Once again, the contestant can quit. The host will continue to offer $500 for each remaining card and a chance to quit with each card that is turned over that does not result in a win.

The game ends when 1) the contestant decides to quit, 2) when all of the cards have been turned over, or 3) when the contestant spells out "CAR" or the card with the word "CAR" is revealed.
