50 Lousy Bucks... Time to Change that game??

It's starting to look like I'm not the ONLY ONE who has noticed just how lame the "Punch A Bunch" game is when a contestant only wins 50 or 100 bucks. Today's contestant was "lucky" enough to get ALL FOUR punches and still just walked away with 50 dollars!! Don't get me wrong here... I'm not saying that "Punch A Bunch" is a bad game (far from it)... it just is in need of a few changes, that's all. It wouldn't be hard to take away SOME of the smaller amounts and add a few larger amounts in place of them. Plus, giving the contestant the chance to win SIX punches instead of the maximum FOUR would add a bit of fun to the game I think. C'mon... even the Brady Bunch knows when it's "Time to Change"!!

The game is not rigged; everyone gets an audition and if not, there is no hope of them to come on down. I hope they made it easy because they realized how difficult the set-ups were. It may have something to do with it being Drew's 500th episode, but I hope it was because they realized that an easy set-up does not guarantee a big payout. May the easier (and not difficult, nearly impossible) setups continue!

Well... on that subject, there was a "celebrity" on the show not too long ago who not only got to "Come on Down", but also made it up on stage as well... He was a young actor who had just turned 21. I recognized him right away from the part that he used to play on the NBC drama "ER". He also stared in a few popular movies (Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, etc...). They didn't even mention on the show that he was a celebrity. Drew just talked about it being his birthday. I find it hard to believe that NOBODY on TPRI staff recognized Steven Christopher Parker??? He's not a big star, but I think A LOT of people would recognize him...

For punch a bunch, they still never show us where the big money is!!!!, the $25,000. That is not like them, they usually show the big prize just to keep their honesty. I agree, I like when Drew shows the price card of the first bid when all four contestants are trying to get on stage. It keeps it honest. There are some other games that need to show the prices too. But off the subject, did anyone have in your area tryouts for the show. We did in Pittsburgh. The local casino had tryouts, but guess what, the contestant who won in Pittsbrgh, was GUARANTEED, thats GUARANTEED, to get to come on down. With only nine chances to actually come on down in that audience of what 200 people, to have those chances narrowed down to 8 is pretty revolting. If I would have stayed there all night and auditioned and had known some people were guaranteed to come on down, thats upsetting. I wonder how many other contestants are jerry rigged to COME ONE DOWN without actually going thru the audition process????

C'mon "Dookar"... are you tellin' me that if you actually got on the show, got picked to "Come on Down", and then got lucky enough to get up on stage to play a pricing game (which just happened to be "Punch a Bunch"), that you wouldn't feel just A BIT disappointed that ALL THAT YOU WON was 50 bucks??? And YES "TPIRLover", I noticed as well that the decision of "higher or lower" for the four prizes seemed to be quite a bit easier this time... hmmm... I wonder why??

At least the set-up was easy today. I hope this proves to the staff that you don't need a tough (near impossible) set-up to get a low payout.

I'm pretty sure you could find multiple people who feel that a given concept is lame, no matter what that concept is. In any event, I'd rather win $50 on Punchboard than nothing on one of Price's other luck-based games...
