What happens is you get an "order of arrival" pass to come back and wait in line some more later. However my husband and I went to the 4pm taping, got our passes at like 6:30 am (#s 298 & 299) and we were the last two people to get in. The auditorium holds about 300, but large groups get preferential seating and don't take numbers. A ticket doesn't guarantee you a seat so I have no idea why they bother with them in the first place as it's "first come, first served."
