Superfan Contest Rules 2018

Show us what makes YOU the biggest superfan of our show with a photo, video, essay, artwork, original song… however you want to show your fandom for “The Price is Right”- get creative! Email us your submissions at! Our biggest superfan will win a brand new car! Please title subject line of email “Price is Right Superfan”, and include your name, address, phone number, age and occupation. (Terms and Conditions Apply- see below).  Contest ends March 11th.








The Price Is Right Productions, and its distribution, production, administrative, advertising, and promotion agencies (“TPIR”) invite you to join in on the fun of THE PRICE IS RIGHT “Superfan Search” (the “Superfan Search”) for Season 46 of The Price Is Right (the “Show”) by emailing photo(s), video(s), homemade artwork, essay(s), and/or audio recordings to (the “Submission Materials”).

If your Submission Materials are not emailed per the below instructions, they will not be considered to be submitted in the Superfan Search.

Your Submission Materials should be original, only include you, and not infringe on any third party rights, including without limitation, copyright, trademark, or patent, or create claims for idea misappropriation or breach of contract.  No Submission Materials will be accepted after 11:59:59pm ET on March 11, 2018. Sponsored by TPIR.

TPIR will only review the FIRST set of Submission Materials you submit (based on the timestamp on Gmail).  If you submit multiple emails of Submission Materials, only the first email of Submission Materials will be reviewed.

In order to participate, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:


  • You must be eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of application.
  • You must be a legal resident of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) and live in the United States as of the date you submit your Submission Materials and continuing through the dates of delivery of the car, if you win.
  • You must not be a candidate for public office at the time of entry, and if selected as a winner, you must agree not to become a candidate for public office until after the initial broadcast of the program in which you appear.
  • You must be a legal permanent resident of the U.S.
  • You must satisfy the Terms of Participation (see below)

You are not eligible if you do not meet the eligibility requirements set forth above.

Anyone who is currently, or has been within the past six (6) months, an Employee, officer, director and/or agent of CBS Corporation, CBS Broadcasting Inc., The Price Is Right Productions, Inc., Fremantle Goodson, Inc., or Fremantle Media North America, Inc. (and/or any parent, subsidiary, or affiliate of any of the foregoing), and/or local and national sponsors of THE PRICE IS RIGHT and/or of any of their respective licensees, assigns, partners, parents, subsidiary, or affiliated companies and their immediate family (spouse, mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son, regardless of where they live) or members of their same households (whether related or not) are not eligible to be participants in the Superfan Search or participate in the application process.

You are required to provide truthful information and TPIR may reject and require deletion of any entry that it discovers or determines to be false or fraudulent.  TPIR may disqualify any entry from individuals who do not meet the eligibility requirements.

Your Submission Materials must NOT contain material which is sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, violent (for example, relating to murder, weapons, cruelty, abuse, etc.), discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal (for example, underage drinking, substance abuse, computer hacking, etc.), offensive, threatening, profane or harassing.

Contest Submission Phase – How To Enter

A person who meets all of the eligibility criteria set forth herein may enter the Superfan Search contest by emailing their Submission Materials to during the Submission Period (as defined below).

Only Submission Materials submitted between 8:00:00am ET on February 16, 2018 and 11:59:59pm ET on March 11, 2018 (the “Submssion Period”), will be entered into the judging phase described below.

TPIR shall act as official timekeeper, and all decisions regarding timing of entries shall be at TPIR’s sole discretion.

In the event of a dispute as to who submitted any entry, the authorized account holder of the email address used to send Submission Materials (the “Authorized Email Accountholder”) will be deemed to be the entrant and, in the event such submission is chosen as the winner, the Prize will be awarded to the Authorized Email Accountholder.  The winning entrant may be required to show proof of being the Authorized Email Accountholder.




The Submission Materials will be judged by personnel from THE PRICE IS RIGHT based on the following criteria: 33.3% originality, 33.3% creativity, and 33.3% enthusiasm for the submitted materials.  In the event of a tie, the entry with the higher score in the enthusiasm category will be declared the winner.


Remember: Your Submission Materials must adhere to the time restriction above, so make sure to show your spirit within the time allotted.


Winner Selection


One (1) winner will be selected.  The winner will not be officially declared until such individual fills out, signs and returns all required paperwork, which may include a Release and Waiver, an appearance release, an Arbitration Provision, and/or other documents as reasonably required by TPIR. The winner will receive the Prize as set forth below.  The winner must be willing to be filmed at their home when the Prize is delivered.  The Prize will be delivered to the winner’s home on our about March 19-20, 2018 (the “Prize Delivery Date”).  If the winner is unable to participate in filming at their home on the Prize Delivery Date, he or she will not be officially declared the winner, and TPIR may choose an alternate winner.  If after three (3) attempts to choose an alternate winner are made, no alternate winner can be found who is available to receive the Prize as set forth herein, TPIR reserves the right to end the contest and in such event, no prize will be awarded.


All of TPIR’s decisions with respect to the Superfan Search are final and in TPIR’s sole and absolute discretion.


Prize Delivery and Filming


The winner will be filmed receiving the Prize (the “Prize Delivery Footage”), and such Prize Delivery Footage may be exhibited as part of one (1) or more episode(s) of THE PRICE IS RIGHT at any time in TPIR’s sole discretion. TPIR hereby is and shall be the sole and exclusive owner and is the sole author for all purposes (including under the copyright laws of the United States), in perpetuity and throughout the universe, of all right, title and interest in and to the Prize Delivery Footage, all of which shall be a “work made for hire” for TPIR as a work specially ordered or commissioned for use as a part of a motion picture or other audio-visual work.




The Prize (“the Prize”) for the winner shall consist of:


New Car: One (1) Mini Cooper of TPIR’s choosing.


Please note that the Prize is not refundable or transferable, and cannot be substituted or exchanged for cash or credit at any time.


TPIR will deliver the Prize to the winner and TPIR will be responsible for the cost of such delivery.


Approximate value of the Prize is $22,450.00 (based on a two door, manual transmission, hard top model). The Prize does not include items not specified, such as insurance, taxes, accessories, merchandise, or souvenirs, etc. The Prize winner also will be responsible for any taxes related to this contest and/or prizes won as a result of their participation as a contestant in an episode of THE PRICE IS RIGHT, if any.


By accepting the Prize, you acknowledge that you are not guaranteed to receive a prize of monetary value on THE PRICE IS RIGHT or the opportunity to be called on stage.


TPIR may elect, in its sole discretion, to feature Submission Materials submitted as part of the Superfan Search in one or more episodes of THE PRICE IS RIGHT or related promotional materials, including without limitation on social media such as Twitter, Instagram, and/or Facebook, in TPIR’s sole discretion.


TPIR reserves the right to change or make exceptions to any of the rules, eligibility requirements and terms, including the terms of any prizes to be awarded at any time without notice.


TPIR reserves the right to add, cancel and/or substitute other means of participation and TPIR reserves the right to modify the manner in which the Superfan Search is conducted.


Other Conditions (the “Terms of Participation”)


Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winner.  The winner may be required to complete and submit an IRS Form W-9 with his/her full Social Security Number or the equivalent for receipt of any prize valued at $600 or more or for any prizes awarded by TPIR in a calendar year with an aggregate value of $600 or more.  Failure to submit a complete W-9 or equivalent will result in forfeiture of the Prize.  Such winnings of $600 or more will be reported to the IRS.


Participation in the Superfan Search and/or acceptance of the Prize constitutes entrant’s and/or winner’s permission for TPIR or its agents and designees to interview the winner, to photograph, film, and record the winner, and to use in commerce and in any media his/her name, address (city and state), biographic information, likeness, photograph, audio or video recording, Submission Materials, and/or any statements made by him/her regarding TPIR, the Superfan Search, and/or its sponsor(s) for purposes of trade, publicity, or promotion without notice or additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.  The winner agrees to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the Prize, except where prohibited by law.


If selected as the winner, you may also be required to meet with the press to promote your appearance on the Show.  Press appearances are subject to your availability.  You also authorize TPIR to conduct civil, criminal, financial, driver-history and any other type of background checks deemed necessary by TPIR. All dates and locations listed in these eligibility requirements and in the application form are subject to change in TPIR’s sole discretion, without notice.


 If you are chosen as the winner, TPIR shall not be responsible for making any necessary arrangements with your employer and family in anticipation of your absence from home and your job.


You understand that although you may believe your Submission Materials to be unique and novel, there may be pre-existing ideas, concepts, or proposals that are similar to your Submission Materials.  By submitting your Submission Materials, you recognize that other persons, including TPIR’s own employees, may have submitted to TPIR or others, or made public, or may in the future originate and submit or make public, similar or identical ideas, concepts, or proposals that TPIR may have the right to use, and you understand that you will not be entitled to any compensation because of TPIR’s use of such similar or identical ideas, concepts, or proposals in any manner.  You understand and agree that TPIR’s use of material containing features or elements similar or identical to those contained in your Submission Materials will not obligate TPIR to negotiate with you or entitle you to any compensation if TPIR determines that it has an independent legal right to use that other material for any reason (for example, because the features or elements are not new or novel, were not originated by you, or were or may hereafter be independently created and submitted by other persons, including TPIR employees).


By submitting your Submission Materials, you agree that your Submission Materials, in whole or in part and as edited by TPIR in its sole discretion, may be exhibited in the Show (distributed in all media, worldwide), on the Show’s websites (collectively, the “Website”) and in advertising for the Show on-air and off-air and on the Website and on social media platforms related to the Show (together, the “Materials”) and that TPIR may exploit your Submission Materials and the Materials howsoever it chooses in any and all markets and media now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional notification, permission, approval, or compensation.


You grant TPIR, FremantleMedia North America, Inc., Fremantle Goodson, Inc., CBS Corporation, CBS Broadcasting Inc., and their respective parent, subsidiary, and affiliate companies, and their licensees, successors and assigns (the “Program Entities”) the non-exclusive, royalty-free, and irrevocable rights to use, reproduce, copy, publish, display, distribute, perform, translate, adapt, modify, and otherwise exploit your Submission Materials and to incorporate your Submission Materials in other works in any and all markets and media, now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional notification, permission, approval, or compensation.  You warrant that you have the sole and exclusive right to grant such rights to the Program Entities and the Program Entities’ reproduction, publishing, displaying, and/or other use of your Submission Materials will not infringe on any rights of third parties, including, without limitation, copyright, trademark, patent, privacy, or publicity, or create claims for defamation, false light, idea misappropriation, intentional or negligent infliction of emotional distress, or breach of contract.


By submitting your Submission Materials, you hereby indemnify, defend, release, discharge, and hold harmless the Program Entities, Google, Gmail, all television broadcasting stations, sponsors, advertising agencies, and any and all others connected with the Show, and each of their related parent companies, subsidiaries and/or affiliated companies, and the officers, directors, employees, agents, partners and representatives of each of the foregoing (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from submitting your Submission Materials.


By submitting your Submission Materials, you consent to the recording, use, and reuse by the Program Entities of your name, voice, actions, likeness, name, appearance, biographical material, and any other identifying information, including without limitation, any information contained in your Submission Materials, as used, edited, altered, fictionalized, or modified by the Program Entities, in their sole discretion, in any and all markets and media, now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world in perpetuity, including, without limitation, in and in connection with TPIR, the Website, or related sites or services, in and in connection with any television programs and other productions, and in and in connection with advertising, promotion, and publicity.


You acknowledge and agree that TPIR, its licensees, successors, and assigns will be entitled to retain any and all revenue generated from any sales, licenses, assignments, and other transfers of the rights granted by you hereunder, as well as any and all revenue generated by the display of any advertising, publicity, promotional materials, or distribution rights in connection with your Submission Materials or the Materials.  Nothing in these Terms of Participation obligates or may be deemed to obligate TPIR or any other person or entity to exercise any of the rights granted by you under these Terms of Participation. TPIR and its successors, licensees, and assigns, will have the unlimited right to assign these Terms of Participation and the rights granted by you under these Terms of Participation at any time, in whole or in part, to any party.  Your Submission Materials may not be identifiable.  TPIR will have the right to make any changes to your Submission Materials as it determines in its sole discretion.  Your Submission Materials should not contain material that is violent, pornographic, obscene, illegal, inappropriate, or racially or morally offensive.  Your Submission Materials must be your own original work, so it must not contain any intellectual property or other material that you do not solely own and control, such as music, artwork, etc. You agree that TPIR and its licensees, successors, and assigns shall have no obligation to give you credit for your Submission Materials but in their sole discretion may elect to do so.


You understand that there will be no payment for your Submission Materials or the use of your Submission Materials.  You understand that no industry custom or practice applies to your agreement that you will not be paid for your Submission Materials.  You understand that if your Submission Materials is selected for use, such use will not be considered an employment opportunity.  If you do not want your Submission Materials to be used and broadcast by the Program Entities, then please do not participate.  You understand that neither TPIR nor any other party is obligated to use or exploit your Submission Materials.


To the extent that the Website’s Terms of Services, located at (the “Website Terms”), are not in conflict with these Terms of Participation, the Website Terms apply.
